For thirteen years, East Snohomish County has enthusiastically supported two separate
performance groups, Take a Bough Productions and Off the Wall Theater. Both groups have
drawn talent and audiences from the Puget Sound area for quality theater productions. In May,
2004, the groups combined on a joint venture, "My Fair Lady", a first-class show which received
enthusiastic community support. Following that success, both boards convened to discuss
whether the area might be better served by a single community theater, one which could offer
opportunities for performance and performing arts education. These discussions gave birth to
Sky Performing Arts. Evergreen Youth Jazz and "In the Mood", formerly sponsored by Take
a Bough, also now perform under the auspices of Sky Performing Arts.
Sky Performing Arts presents three shows per year - fall, winter and spring, consisting of
dramas, comedies, musicals and childrens' shows. "In the Mood", a USO-style 1940's Big Band
revue returns each holiday season, re-written and revised annually. This show features a
17-piece swing band, some talented vocalists, and even some cut-up comedians. Bring your
dancing shoes for this one!
Our performance venue is located at the Wagner Performing Arts Center, 639 West Main Street,
Monroe, WA 98272.
Prices are between $14 and $16. Group and family prices are available.
The house opens half an hour before the show. Show times are Friday and Saturday 8 pm and
Sunday at 2 pm.
